Jerry Nolan's story is one that is not often told in the annals of punk music. Despite playing in two of the most successful proto-punk bands of the 70s, the New York Dolls and Johnny Thunders' Heartbreakers, his struggles with heroin kept his career stuck in a rut and ultimately led to his untimely death. Though his story is a sad one, he is remembered by those closest to him as a truly talented musician, a powerhouse drummer, and a wisecracking, stylish musical storyteller.
